Activities at Playcentre include arts and crafts, board games, free play, sports, outdoor games, music, drama and cookery.
As they play, children gain new knowledge and understanding that will help them in their lives at home, at school and in the wider community.
By experimenting and taking on challenges, they also build their confidence and self-esteem, which helps them in every area of their lives.
Opening hours
The Playcentre runs every day after school. It starts at 3.20pm and ends at 6pm.
Prices
Playcentre sessions cost £7 for up to 5pm or £10 for up to 6pm.
How to pay
You can pay for Playcentre through Scopay, the school’s online payments system.
If you don’t have a Scopay login, just contact the main school office.
Penalties for late collection
The Playcentre closes at 6pm sharp. You must collect your child by 6pm.
If your child is collected late without agreement, you will have to pay a late fee of £5 for every five minutes after 6pm. For example, if your child is collected at 6:05pm, you will pay £5; if your child is collected at 6.10pm, you will pay £10, and so on.
You will have to pay all your late fees before your child can come to Playcentre again.
If your child is collected late too often, we may have to withdraw them from the service. If this happens, you will need to meet the Lead Learning Mentor before your child can start coming to Playcentre again.
How to book
Please book by email at least a week before the date you would like your child to attend.
Please don’t try to book for the same day. If there is an emergency, please contact the Main Office or Mentor’s Office.
Your child can only come to Playcentre if they have attended school that day.
To book, email support@baden-powell.hackney.sch.uk and make sure you tell us:
- Your child’s name
- Your own contact number
- Emergency contact number(s)
- Important medical information or health issues, such as allergies and intolerances.
We can only accept your booking if you give us all this information.
You’ll get a text or email confirming your booking within 48 hours.
If you need to cancel your booking, the cost won’t be refunded. Instead, the money will be held on account or transferred to another school service.
